Easter 2008

Well we had a Great Easter yesterday! At first, I thought it was going to be lonely. My family was headed south for some warmer weather and Josh's fam was all spread out this year. We had lunch with my fam on Fri, but we have been traveling so much that we decided just to stay home for Easter. On Friday, Patti invited us to Sunday Easter dinner. I am so grateful that she did. It was great to be with her and Rob's family. Little pukashells (Luke) just loves Josh. With Rob's passing just a little while ago, this Easter and the true meaning has been really close this year. I am grateful to have learned and felt more of the enabling power of the Atonement and the perfect brightness of hope that the Resurrection brings. Rob's family is very inviting and accepting and we are blessed to know them. Our RS lesson was great as well, and Kennedy and Boston sang in Sacrament with the Primary. Well, Kenna sang, and I'm not sure what Boston was doing, but nonetheless I always get a little veclemt (sp?) when my kids sing and perform. We had a big Easter egg hunt at the Epperson's and a wonderful Family Home Evening. We had a great time!!

Awesome Park!

It was a pretty nice day yesterday so we decided to go to a park up in American Fork that Josh found while driving around for work. It was an amazing park. Now moving from Vancouver where it would be pretty hard to out do their parks, this one would give them a run for their money. There was a volcano, a rocket ship, a treehouse, and all sorts of discovery things like echo boxes, spinning wheels and music bells. The beehives and rocket ship even had little seats in them. I was glad we went in the morning because on the way home it started to snow. Crazy Utah weather! Well hopefully I can say that the cabin fever has been cured, for a few hours.

A Great Man, A Great Friend!! We will Miss You!

Our dear friend Rob Epperson passed away this morning. I really do not have words for how much he will be missed and the sincere heartache I have for his dear wife, Patti, and their children. Josh and Rob were best of friends really from the minute they met. We had the privelage of spending a lot of time with them when we lived in Vancouver. We and the Epperson's were adopted into the Bennett family the whole time we were there, and we will always be linked. How I will treasure our memories of him and try our hardest to stay in touch with Patti. It hasn't really become a reality for me, except there is a strange sad void in my spirit right now. I have prayed and pondered life through hearing all that they have gone through the last couple of months, and have not had a lightning strike for why it happens. I feel that that question is of no worth because no one can answer "why", but the feeling always came that Jesus is the Christ, he died for our sins, sorrows and sickness. This is why we CAN overcome death, only through him, Jesus Christ, because he knew it was the ONLY way we could return to our Father in Heaven. I know that Rob and Patti know these things. They really knew their spiritual stuff. I will never forget Rob's zest for life, and the ability to make anyone laugh! He and his family were always so welcoming. He and Patti stepped right in and helped me when Josh moved down to Utah and I was alone with the kids. I know this does no justice for the wonderful man, husband, father, and friend he was, but We Love you Rob, Patti, and kids. You are in our prayers!!

I Guess Griff was tired, what do you think?

Here is my precious Griff. A couple of weeks ago we moved him into another room in hopes that he would start sleeping better, and it worked! So for naps I put him in his crib and he cries for a few minutes and then drifts off peacefully into a mid day slumber. This morning I decided I needed to check on him, well I am glad I did. The poor little stink pulled himself to his knees, hanging onto the crib, and then fell asleep. This picture is better than my words on how he looked when I found him. My guess is that he got up and couldn't figure out how to get back down.
